But if you're an independent soul
(I see you!) - there's a bunch of FAQs here that MIGHT answer your questions.

My teen has had tutoring and extra lessons at school, but it’s not worked before. Why would it work with your system?
-
Students often struggle to make progress before they lack the skills and they lack the belief in themselves.

-
All of our programmes are developed with psychology at the heart of them according to a system that works with the teen brain and psyche, not against it. Most programmes pay lip service to ‘self-esteem’ – I have built my programmes around it. You can only learn if you think you can learn. I show our teens that they CAN learn by showing them how to tackle the exam, step by step. When they’ve been working with me for a bit (usually not a lot) and they see the progress they're making, they start to believe in themselves as readers and as writers. Competence creates confidence.

The programme is developed specifically for English GCSEs– and I developed it from my experience of teaching students who really struggled with this exam. Many of these students have dyslexia or adhd - once you know how to teach to struggling students, you can teach to any student including the high flyers. I take a unique approach to exam and writing skills – and this approach has worked time and again.

And in the exceptionally rare case it ISN'T working for your teen, it's a rolling monthly subscription - cancel anytime, no penalties, no awkward conversations and I'll refund you pro rata.

My teen hated online learning during covid, I don't think they'll go for this
I thought I hated learning online as well, until I got the right course when I realised it’s not the medium that counts, it’s the content.

-
The difference with this online tutoring programme and other programmes is HUGE. The course is created for people who aren’t keen on online learning and so I’ve made it video based, super easy and quick to watch (most videos are 3 minutes long or under).

-
I keep groups small (max 8 students) so everyone gets individual attention without feeling put on the spot. Most students actually relax when they see other teens struggling with the same things. It normalises the difficulty and builds confidence faster than 1-1 tutoring..

-
There’s also a great and growing community of learners here. It honestly doesn’t feel like it’s an online course – we really spend some fun time together as a community and we champion each other relentlessly.

-
Most digital learning systems feel a little lonely and ‘cold’ - you’ll find it’s a blast to work on ours – and I promise you, you’ll not feel alone.

Is this English Language, Literature, or both?
The program includes courses for Language (writing + analysis) and Literature (essay writing for set texts). Your teen can focus on whichever they need most.

What year group is this for?
Years 9, 10, and 11. If your teen is starting GCSE English next year or sitting exams this year, this works.

How is this different from school or a regular tutor?
Schools focus on WHAT to learn (the content) but rarely teach HOW to actually do it. Regular tutors often just help with homework. This program teaches the underlying skills, gives you the language and structure you need, and practices it with you until it becomes automatic.

What kind of results can I expect?
Most students improve by two grades (e.g., Grade 5 to Grade 7). Many improve by three. But more importantly, they stop feeling like English is a mystery and start actually enjoying it again. As one Year 11 student said: "I rediscovered that I actually like creative writing."

What tech do I need?
-
It’s really easy –all you need is access to the internet so that you can get the content videos

-
then you'll need to be able to join a zoom call (headphones and a microphone can help but aren't essential)

-
and you'll need to be able to work on google docs - then we can work together in real time. sweet.
